The blue jay is by far the largest bird that visits the feeder. I don't see him very often, but when he arrives, I can hear him land with a thud. He moves through the food quickly and deliberately and often swallows peanuts whole. He is very skittish and I was lucky to get these pictures! | |||

          Sometimes, several jays visit at once. Here you can see two on the sill and another waiting in the tree.  And here are a couple of them mid-flight.      |
